Meet the Spoodle- The Ultimate Family Companion

Spoodles are truly the perfect family dog. They are social, loyal, intelligent, and inquisitive — and above all, they love to be loved. With their kind temperament and affectionate nature, Spoodles adapt beautifully to a wide range of family dynamics, making them a wonderful choice for households of all types and sizes.

At Tulla Plains Puppies, we specialise in both F1 Spoodles (first generation) and F1b Spoodles (backcross).

F1 Spoodle

F1 Spoodles are a cross between a purebred Cocker Spaniel and a Miniature Poodle. This pairing combines the gentle, playful nature of the Cocker Spaniel with the intelligence and low-shedding coat of the Poodle — resulting in an affectionate, trainable, and family-friendly companion. Our F1 Spoodles typically mature to approximately 8–12 kg in weight and around 30 cm in height at the shoulder, making them a manageable size for both urban and rural homes. Our F1 Spoodles are predominantly red and gold in colour, with soft, wavy coats and an adorable teddy bear appearance.

F1b Spoodle

F1b Spoodles share all the same wonderful temperament traits as our F1 Spoodles — they are friendly, intelligent, and affectionate companions. With a higher percentage of Poodle genes, F1b Spoodles typically have curlier, very low- to non-shedding coats, making them an excellent choice for families seeking a more hypoallergenic pet. Our F1b Spoodles are predominantly red and gold in colour and tend to be slightly smaller in build, maturing at approximately 6–10 kg in weight and around 30 cm in height at the shoulder.

Both generations are known for their affectionate personalities, manageable size, and adaptability to both city and country lifestyles. They’re well-suited to families of all types and thrive in loving, interactive homes. Spoodles have moderate energy levels, enjoying daily walks, interactive playtime, and mental stimulation. Their intelligence and eagerness to please make training an easy and rewarding experience. Whether you’re new to dog ownership or experienced, Spoodles respond well to consistent, patient guidance.
